INTRODUCTION

In order to understand Az Yashir (Shiras Hayam) we must first understand the significance of the annialation of The Egyptian army at the Red Sea. The Torah states, "On that day, Hashem saved Israel from the hand of Egypt, and they saw the Egyptions dead on the seashore. Israel saw the great hand that Hashem inflicted on the Egyptions, and the people feared Hashem, and they had faith in Hashem, and in Moses, His servent." (Shmos 14:30)
